William Arthur Raymond (Uncle Bill) age 90 Passed Away on February 10, 2020, Beloved husband of the late Joan, Father of Beth Raymond, Leslie Joan Leffler (Jim), and Jeanne Citro (Ed). Grandfather of Jimmy Leffler (Kristine), Scott Leffler (Brenda), and Courtney Citro. Great Grandfather of Caden Leffler, Ryder Leffler, and Brody Leffler,

Bill, a former Chief of Chagrin Falls Fire Department, one of the “Three Amigos” . Affectionately known as Uncle Bill to all of us. He was a weekly visitor for coffee even into his 90’s.

Bill joined the fire department in 1950 when he came to Chagrin Falls after his discharge from the Navy SeaBees. He served on the auxiliary department for 2 years before being elected to regular department in 1952. During his 45 years on the department he served as president of the corporation, was a long time assistant chief and was the last volunteer chief, before the position became full-time in 1980.

He owned and operated Village Glass in Chagrin Falls for 30 years from 1967 to 1998. Bill would be out during the day doing glass repair jobs, but if a fire call came in, he was known to drop his tools and respond to the call. There is a fire department award named for him because of his unparalleled attendance record.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 and the service is on ‪Friday at 10 o'clock all at Saint Joans Of Arc in Chagrin Falls,.
