Todd Chandler Obituary

Todd Andrews Chandler, 59 passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024 with his family at his side. Todd was born on May 11, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio to Mary C. Chandler and Arthur W. Chandler. Todd resided with his mother at their home in Western Michigan until her passing. He then moved to assisted living in Chagrin Falls, Ohio to be close to his sister, Holly. Todd graduated from Chagrin Falls High School and went onto work as a mail clerk at the family business, The Chandler Group of Companies. He was known to have the best decorated apartment capturing Michigan memories of lake living and lots of photos of family and friends. The residents and nursing staff would always say, “Todd you have the cutest apartment” and he would shyly light up with a smile. When Todd would tell a story with his soft spoken voice you had to listen carefully as he would speed up with details and quickly tell you his story.

He is survived by his sister, Holly A. Chandler (husband Joseph D. Crea), cousins, Dia Patterson, Blake and Sarah Chandler. He was preceeded in death by parents, Mary C. Chandler and Arthur W. Chandler.

Todd faced many challenges in life with grace and acceptance rarely complaining. Those who knew Todd, liked him and described him with a sweet gentle demeanor, kind quiet soul, infectious laugh with beautiful blue eyes. He was known to drive his red Hummer around the beautiful Michigan roads and enjoyed driving his pontoon boat and fishing on the lake. He also loved attending the Cleveland Auto Show, Home & Garden Show and trips to the casino in Manistee, Michigan. The Fourth of July was his favorite holiday to spend time with family/cousins and friends lighting fireworks. You could always find him enjoying a meal at Deb’s Café, the Stony Lake Store and the Stony Lake Tavern (he certainly had his route).

Our family would like to thank the “exceptional” caregivers for their service to our family throughout the last few years. I want to especially thank Quran DeJarnette of The Elite Home Healthcare and her amazing team as well as Jessica who drove Todd on day trips to explore fun towns in Ohio, movies, dining out and sharing Todd with her own family.

We are so thankful to our Michigan and Ohio friends who always made Todd feel loved and accepted.

A private family graveside burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Stony Lake Michigan this summer.
