Robyn ‘Sam’ Monzel (Derek Wagner) Obituary

     Robyn ‘Sam’ Monzel (Derek Wagner) passed away on June 8, 2026. They loved the outdoors and enjoyed cooking. Camping was a favorite pastime, especially in Montana, Colorado, and Alaska. Robyn ‘Sam’ worked as a cook at several resorts in Washington, Colorado, Alaska, and Montana. Most recently, they were working in Pittsburgh while completing college.

     Robyn ‘Sam’ Monzel (Derek Wagner) was born on May 5, 1991, in Ashtabula, Ohio. They were the child of Steve Monzel and the late Lynne Monzel, and the stepchild of Mary Monzel. Robyn was preceded in death by their brothers, Scott Monzel and Irwin Monzel; their mother, Lynne Monzel; and their uncle, Jim Monzel. They are survived by their father, Steve Monzel; stepmother, Mary Monzel; stepbrothers, Ryan O’Connor, Neil O’Connor, and Ben O’Connor; stepsister, Maureen Ganson; and birth daughter, Lauren Millin-Lipnos. Robyn is also survived by their uncle, Mike Monzel; aunt, Dawn Monzel; and many cousins and friends.

     Robyn ‘Sam’ will be missed by many; however we find comfort that they are with their brothers and mother.

     Services will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Auroa, Ohio on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11 AM.  Robyn ‘Sam’ will be interned at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield, Ohio immediately after the service.  Family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:00 AM Saturday June 27th at Steinbauer Funeral Home 33375 Bainbridge Road Solon, OH 44139
