Robert Victor Cockrell
Chagrin Falls – Bob Cockrell, 73, died June 27, 2022. He was born August 28, 1948 at Saint Ann’s Hospital to Victor and Delores Cockrell (Kaczmarek).
Bob graduated from South High School, class of 1967. Following graduation he served with the Air Force, then worked in the private sector for a time before joining the Bentleyville Police Department in 1976 where he worked until he was hired by the Village of Chagrin Falls Police Department in May of 1981. After 32 years of dedicated and distinguished service, Bob retired as Captain from the Chagrin Falls Police Department in 2013.
In 2000 he met Faye and they were married in 2011, she remained by his side as his best friend to the very end.
Bob Was appointed to the Position of Patrol Officer for the Village of Chagrin Falls in 1981, promoted to Sergeant in 1985, promoted to Lieutenant in 1995, and Finally Captain in 1999, he was a loyal, nearly 30 year member, past President and past Head Trustee of the Chagrin Falls Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE Aerie #2436), In 2000 Bob was honored by the Chagrin Valley Jaycee’s with the Distinguished Service Award, and in 1994 he was named “Man of the Year” by the Fraternal Order of Police, George Murray Lodge # 67
Bob was an avid golfer and meticulously maintained his lawn to look like a golf course.
He was predeceased by his Mother. He is survived by his Father Victor, wife Faye, brother Richard (Maryanne), children Robert Jr., Bob Cox (Elyse), Fred Cox and Nicholas Owen, grandchildren Cecelia and Owen, nieces Christina, Vanessa and Sara. Also survived by many cousins.
