Robert A. Roth, January 6, 1921-May 1, 2015
Robert Andrew Roth was born in Cleveland on January 6, 1921, to Andrew and Sara (Ziegler) Roth. He graduated from Shaw High School. He received his BS and MS degrees from Case Institute of Technology and was a member of Blue Key, Theta Tau, Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Psi fraternities. He was also a veteran of WWII. Bob’s varied career included positions with TRW, Bryant Heater, and Dupont. He was also employed by Alco Standard Corp, a holding company, during which time he was president of Pyronics, Inc. and Flodar Corp.
As a longtime resident of Aurora, Ohio, he served as City Councilman, Chair of the Library Board and Chair of the Board of Zoning Appeals. He was a staunch member of the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out). He loved to do crossword puzzles and sing, and in his younger years was often the life of the party.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 63 years, Jane (Cox), and his son Eric. He is survived by his sister Louise Grob, his son Robert Andrew, Jr. (wife Patricia Ganey), his grandchildren Evan (wife Michele Walther), Kelly, and Lydia, and his great-granddaughter, Octavia. He was dearly loved and will be missed tremendously.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, May 15, at The Church in Aurora, 146 S. Chillicothe Rd., Aurora, OH 44202. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church in Aurora.
