Paul Michael DeLuca, 54

Paul Michael DeLuca of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, left this world for eternal rest on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the age of 54. Paul is survived by his best friend and wife Renee; children Matthew DeLuca and Alienna Arnold. They became a family in Aurora, Ohio on May 17, 2002. Paul is predeceased by his father, Louis DeLuca of Erie, PA. Paul is lovingly remembered by his wife Renee of Laughing Pines in Chagrin Falls; son Matthew Louis (18), stepdaughter Alienna Lyn Arnold (21); mother Rose DeLuca (Erie, PA); sisters Christine (Gregory) Morealli; and Suzanne (Robert) Hawryliw; nieces Gina Morealli, Robyn Jones, and Jacilynn Peacock; nephews Ross (Bekka) Morealli, and Noah Hawryliw; many cousins and other relatives; dearest friend Cami Bell; lifelong friends Joe Schneider, Kevin Marz, and John Gott; as well as countless others around the country and in northeast Ohio, where he lived for 30 years. Paul was born in Erie, PA in 1961. He graduated from Harborcreek High School in 1979 and went on to attend Gannon University. He was a member of Delta Chi fraternity. Paul worked at Jive Software as a sales engineer, and was vice president of the New Albion Brewing Company, a family business he owned with his wife Renee. He coached lacrosse at both Chagrin Falls and Kenston schools, and won the 2015 State Championship with his Kenston Middle School boys’ team in Columbus, Ohio. Paul enjoyed playing his drums in many bands, listening to live music, cooking for family and friends, telling jokes, reading and writing, traveling, coaching lacrosse, walking his dog, Harley, and spending time with those he loved. His sharp wit and sense of humor, intelligence, kindness, and strong sense of devotion to those he loved were the hallmarks of his life. He was a member of the Chagrin Falls Jaycees, as well as the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2436. He volunteered for the Bainbridge Police Department and participated in Team in Training to raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Paul was especially proud of Matt as he embarked on his freshman year at Marquette University, and Ali as she completed her senior year at Boston College. Calling hours will be held at Stroud Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 South Franklin Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 12 p.m-2 p.m. followed by a short memorial service. Additionally, there will be a remembrance at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 26 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 837 Bartlett Road, Harborcreek, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, 5700 Brecksville Road, Independence, Ohio 44131.
