Patsy Hyde Loy (Hyde) Sprinkle

Patsy Hyde Loy Sprinkle, a long-time resident of the Chagrin Falls area, died Tuesday the 13^th of June in her home in South Russell with her family at her side.She leaves her husband and life-long friend from the 6^th grade, Kenneth Sprinkle, whom she married in 2010, and sons Robert (Tobi) of Philadelphia, Christopher (Linda) of Port St. Lucie, FL and Stephen of South Russell. Sadly, her daughter Rebecca Chafin (Cecil) died unexpectedly on June 26. She is also survived by brothers David Hyde of Annapolis, and Thomas Hyde (Rhonda) of Dubai, grandchildren James Loy, Thomas Loy, Sarah Loy, Christopher Loy, Riley Chafin and Sydney Chafin, as well as many step-children and step-grandchildren. Born in 1936 in Glendive, MT, Patsy was raised in the Jamestown, NY area before moving to northeast Ohio in 1955, where she married Robert Loy, and raised four children. Patsy was a resident of the Chagrin Falls area, serving as Finance Director from 1970-1984, Assistant Director of Finance for Mentor from 1984 to 1992, and Finance Director for Pepper Pike from 1992 to her retirement in 1997. She was active in the Federated Church of Chagrin Falls, and loved books, walking, nature, lighthouses, classical music, her Indians and her dear friends, including her prayer group and monthly Birthday Club. A memorial service will be held at Federated Church in Chagrin Falls on Sunday, July 23^rd at 1:00. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Federated Church.
