Mark J. Roubic, 65 of Auburn Township sadly passed away Thursday, June 29th, 2023. He was born to Richard & Margaret (Verveka) Roubic in Auburn on January 30, 1958. Mark was a 1977 graduate of Kenston High School. He married the love of his life Ellen Vamos Roubic on November 20, 1982. On April 18th, 1986 his beautiful daughter Christy Lynn was born. And 6 years later, December 28th, 1992 Andrew Joseph arrived.
Mark owned Shurbrite Windowing Cleaning along with a seasonal snowplowing business.
Mark loved the outdoors and boating. As a child he and his family spent many years going to Tygart Lake in West Virginia. His father taught Mark how to water ski (and we think before Mark could walk). Mark was a phenomenal skier and could barefoot water ski, kite ski, and be the base for large pyramids. He was even successful at getting his wife to learn how to ski on one ski!
Sunday mornings would start with Mark, Ellen and Carbon taking a golf cart ride through their property and eventually could turn into an all day affair as they would broaden their path to enjoy the company of their close neighbors.
Hosting Nascar and 4th of July parties in his garage was also a large part of his life, along with neighbors and friends. You could always rely on the Roubic’s for a great outdoor party and the best fireworks display.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Richard Vamos and is survived by his wife Ellen (Vamos) of 40 years, daughter Christy Lynn, son Andrew Joseph (special friend Miranda) and his dog Carbon, brothers Rick Roubic (Betsy) and Tom Roubic, sisters-in-law Vicki Johnson (Neil) and Julie Hayes (Huck), and mother-in-law Jackie Vamos, along with many neices, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will take place on Friday, July 7th, 2023 at Adam Hall Community Center, 11455 E. Washington Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The family requests to search your pictures and bring a copy to add to the celebration of life memory board, along with sharing 2-3 minutes of your most treasured moment with Mark. This will be a very casual event – think of it as a party in the Roubic garage.
In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a special contribution in Mark’s honor, the family request’s you send a memorial to Special Olympics of Geauga County.
