Louis Heinrich Vernon (May 13, 1924 - October 31, 2015); Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
Lou Vernon, exquisite muralist, viticulturist and honored WWII Veteran (1943-1946), died peacefully at home in the care of his family. He was fondly known by his 26 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren as "Grandpa Bond" for his airplane flying, dancing, skiing and ice skating twirls, and building of every contraption from monstrous tree houses to antique sailboats and canoes. One of Lou's most celebrated murals was a replica of Leonardo De Vinci's Last Supper, which strengthened his faith.
Lou cherished his operation of Vernon International Airport and the grapes he farmed on 200 acres in Western, New York (from 1969-1990), with his beloved wife Judith Jeter Vernon, and his family of eight children, who all worked together in the vineyards.
On 14th November 2015, the children (Nick, Bonnie, Susan, Hugh, Cathy, Roberta, Renee and Jeffrey) and Judith all warmly welcome you to attend a Service to Celebrate Lou’s Life at Valley Presbyterian Church, 17560 Chillicothe Road, Bainbridge, Ohio, at 3pm. Guests will be received by the family from 2pm. Those who feel called to offer a thanksgiving in honor of Lou's life may make such offerings to the Valley Presbyterian Church.
