Judith Rood Solether
CHAGRIN FALLS, OH – Judith “Judy” Rood Solether died unexpectedly of natural causes March 12, 2021, at Geauga Medical Center. She was born May 5, 1941, at Polyclinic Hospital in Cleveland, the daughter of Wendell C. and Bertine Post Rood.
Judy graduated from Chagrin Falls High School and was a long-time active member of the community. She served on the PTA and Chagrin Valley Jaycees. She was an avid member golfer at Tanglewood and Chagrin Valley Country Club. She loved her canasta group. She wrote for the Chagrin Valley Times before becoming a real estate agent over 40 years ago and recently retired from Howard Hanna.
She married in 1959 and is survived by husband Darryl “Corky” Solether and sons Steven (Karrie) and their children Wesley and Hannah in Lombard, IL, and Jim in Cleveland and his daughter Carley in Cottekill, NY.
Other survivors include brothers Don Rood (Kathy) and Ted Rood, sisters-in-law Linda Rood and Kris Bargar (John). She loved her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Kevin, brothers Ron and Bill, and sister Nancy Simpson.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. You may make gifts in Judy’s memory to Children’s Free Care Fund, 40 E. Washington St., Chagrin Falls, OH 44022.
