John B. Trethewey

John (Jack) Bickford Trethewey, 93, of Auburn Township Ohio, passed away at home on June 30, 2023, surrounded by his family and friends.

Jack was born on March 22, 1930, in Bedford, Ohio, to the late George and Florence (Ada) Trethewey. He is preceded in death by his wife Sandra (Sandy), brothers George (Zeke), Will Ehrman, and nephew Chris Freeman.

Jack is survived by son Jack (Jake) Trethewey (wife Dawn), grandson John Mitchell (JT), son Mark Trethewey (wife Lucy), and granddaughter Stella, niece Sarah Freeman, her daughter Dahlia, and many other family and friends.

Jack graduated from Auburn High School (Class of 1948). He served in the Navy, both active duty and reserve from 1948 to 1972, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.

Jack worked as a Machinist, Service representative and Installer along with a host of other hats in his long life. He worked for many companies concluding his career with Kohler Rubber when he was 70.

Jack enjoyed his friends, working on the farm, building, and repairing a variety of things, and helping others. Those near him know how he enjoyed mowing lawns during the summer. Jack was also actively involved in the Fleet Reserve Association.

Friends will be received at St John Funeral Home 16381 Chillicothe Rd. Bainbridge Twp. Ohio Thursday, July 6, 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday July 7, 2023 at St John Funeral Home 106381 Chillicothe Rd. Bainbridge Twp.

Burial will follow the funeral at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio, at 1:15 PM

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Auburn Volunteer Fire Department 10950 E Washington St, Auburn Township, OH 44023.
