AUBURN TOWNSHIP -- Jean L. Fugman (Davis) passed away peacefully Friday, August 21st at her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 9, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, the only child of Myrle and Julia May (Haskins) Davis, and lived most of her 91 years on their farm in Auburn.
She married the late Frank H. Fugman in 1948, and together they raised 7 children, ran the farm, made music together and traveled the United States. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as Regent of the Molly Chittenden Chapter. Mrs. Fugman had 10 ancestral lines traced to the Revolutionary War. Her grandfather served in the Civil War as well. She was devoted to her country and community and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 193 in Mantua Township. She was a faithful Christian which showed in the way she lived her life.
Mrs. Fugman is survived by her daughters, Connie J. Hess (Richard J., decd.), Carolyn R. Howell (James D. Jr., decd.), June E. Fugman, Mary J. Reese (Daniel) and Arlene A. Morgan (Pat); and sons, Frank W. Fugman (Laurel) and Roger M. Fugman (Roseann). Fifteen beloved grandchildren: Sharon, Jennifer, Kathryn, James, Frank, Sarah, William, Phillip, Cynthia, Benjamin, Erin, Patrick, David, Timothy and Jonah. Thirteen beloved great grandchildren: Kenneth, Joseph, Madeline, Keith, Aaron, Lydia, Elvis, Henry, Spencer, Colt, Michael, Oliver and Alfred.
Due to current social distancing requirements, a private viewing will be held Tuesday evening for the family, with private graveside services held Wednesday, August 26th, at Shadyside Cemetery at Auburn Corners, Patrick Morgan officiating. Stroud Lawrence Funeral Home in Chagrin Falls is handling arrangements. Family suggests contributions to the Auburn Township Fire Department.
