Esther A. (Kish) Schron

Esther A. Schron died peacefully in her home on October 23, 2015 at the Western Reserve Masonic Community, in Medina, Ohio. She was born Esther A. Kish on May 25, 1917 to Susie and Reverend Julius Kish.

She grew up on the family farm in Perry, Ohio with her parents, her sisters Ruth and Martha, and her brother Jay. She graduated from Perry High School and attended Baldwin Wallace College. She was always involved in the life of the church and she was devoted to the life of Christ.

Esther loved gardening, flowers of all kinds, and had a greenhouse full of beautiful orchids. Esther learned the art of flower arranging and was proficient in the Ikebana style of arranging. She was an active member in her garden club. She took many classes in order to become a well-respected Flower Show Judge and lecturer.

Esther and her husband, Jack, raised their four children, Courtney, Terry, Jack, and Sue, in Chagrin Falls. They worked hard as a couple to build a family business, Jergens Inc., which is still growing today. While they were building the business they traveled the world to promote the company. Jack and Esther were fortunate enough to celebrate their 70^th Anniversary.

Esther is survived by her sons Terry (Jayme) and Jack (Mary Ellen), her daughter Sue Evans (John), her daughter-in-law Pat, and her brother Jay Kish. Esther’s family was the most important things in her life and over the years she was blessed by 12 wonderful grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack H. Schron, her son Colonel Courtney Schron USMC, her sisters, and her parents.

The family will greet guests on Wednesday October 28^th from 3:30-5:00 and 6:30-8:00 at the Stroud Lawrence Funeral Home 95 South Franklin St, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44022.  Services will be held on Thursday October 29^th at 10:00 at the Chagrin Falls Methodist Church, 20 South Franklin St., Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44022.  The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that the contributions be made to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, 11030 East Blvd, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
