Elmer D Hissett

Elmer D. Hissett age 96 of New Smyrna Beach Florida, formerly of Chagrin Falls passed away peacefully on September 14, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Berny, Loving father of El (Wes Cotton) Hissett-Morse, Shaun "Al" (Carol-deceased) Hissett, John (Alan) Hissett, and the late Paul Hissett. Dear grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 17. Elmer served in WWII and a past president of the Chagrin Falls VFW. Elmer was voted on to the Chagrin Falls Fire Department on August 6, 1959, in March of 1966 he was appointed by then Chief Hern as Chief of the Rescue Squad. Elmer served as a Captain on the Fire Department until he was appointed as an Assistant Chief in January of 1975. He was give the Firefighter of the year award in 1987. Elmer's service to the Chagrin Falls Fire Department lasted 37 years With him retiring in 1996. Elmer was part of the Three Amigos. Family will receive friends from 2-8 PM Tuesday September 22, 2020 at Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home 33375 Bainbridge Road, Solon, Ohio 44139. A Private interment will occur on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Chagrin Falls Fire Department. Arrangement by Stroud~Lawrence Funeral Home, Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
