Donald Dwight Mitchell, Sr. passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 25, 2023. Belove husband of Patricia “Pat” (Sheridan) Mitchell. Loving Father of Cynthia (Stanley) Osborne, Jayne (Robert) Beverly, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Lindner, and the late Don Mitchell Jr. Dear Grandfather of Katie, Patrice, Susie, John, Seth, Molly, and Jimmy, great grandfather of Charlotte, Aidynn, Peyton, Penelope, Ephraim, Maggie, Gregory, Maximus, Logan, Jonah, Lucy, Sergius, Diana, Theodore, Isaiah, and Toby. Predeceased in death by his Parents Leonard and Myrtle (nee Ruff) Mitchell and brothers Richard Mitchell, Arthur Mitchell, and Sister Jean Shelton. Don retired from Zircoa/Corning in Solon then worked for Bainbridge Twp. as a sexton. Don was a volunteer fireman with Bainbridge Fire Dept. He enjoyed playing softball with friends, the church, and his daughter. He always found ways to help anyway he could in the community including his church and Food for Friends. He was involved in the Historical Engine Society and Bainbridge Historical Society. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Eagles Club. He seemed to always know someone everywhere he went. He attended Kenston sports until it became too difficult for him. He loved the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, and for some odd reason, Dallas Cowboys. He always looked forward to the Geauga County Fair. Don was always proud of his family. He was also a Mason. Family will receive friends from 9-11 AM with a Funeral Service at 11 AM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church 17989 Chillicothe Rd. Bainbridge Twp. OH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
