Deborah McMahon Slacas, an amazing sister, wife, mom, and grandmother, peacefully passed away in her sleep on the morning of March 15. Debbie was born in Deerfield Michigan, March 27, 1940 and grew up in Cleveland Heights, graduating from Hoban Dominican Catholic High School. During her life she worked as telephone operator and nanny. She loved to work in her yard and tend to her many plants. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and would use any excuse to bring them together. Debbie had a great sense of humor with a warm contagious laugh and she was an avid reader and gold library card member. Often you could find her picking through yard sales and hunting for treasure at thrift stores. She never met a stranger and greeted everyone with warmth and kindness. Her guilty pleasure was watching The View and eating dessert first. Proud of her Irish heritage, she loved to recount her portrayal of Saint Patrick in the Cleveland Saint Patrick’s Day Parade while attending Hoban Dominican. She is survived by Bill, her husband of over sixty-one years, as well as her children, Chris, Bill, Bob, and Kath, her five grandchildren, her brother, three sisters, and many, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family will receive friends from 10-11 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM Saturday March 19, 2022 at the Church of the Holy Angels 18205 Chillicothe Road Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023. Arrangements by Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home Chagrin Falls, OH. www.stroudlawrence.com
