DAVID MICHAEL SIMKO
Age 77, passed away peacefully at home on September 26. Beloved husband of Theresa (Terry); dear father of Jennifer Simokaitis (Charlie), Melissa Sanders (Scott), and Catherine Simko-Smith (Scott); grandfather of Lili, Faye, Rosalind, Margot and Henry; dear brother of Elizabeth Simko. He graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and joined Swagelok Company. During his 40-year tenure there he worked in the Engineering department, designing and developing valves and was eventually awarded patents for many of his designs. Dave also served as Swagelok’s Director of Sales where he was responsible for promoting products on a world-wide basis. He was a member of Chagrin Valley Rotatory, The Early Settlers Association of the Western Reserve, Cleveland Grays and a long-time active member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. He volunteered for the Geauga County Park District and the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Calling hours from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday September 30 at St. Martin’s Church, and Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 at St. Martin’s Church, 6295 River Road in Bentleyville, Ohio.
