Barbara McWilliams Warren

Barbara MacWilliams Warren was born July 13, 1929 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Hazel Freeman MacWilliams and Frederick Fraser MacWilliams.  She moved to Chagrin Falls, Ohio in 1959, and then to South Russell in 1961, where she resided for most of the rest of her life.  Barbara graduated from Beaver College in 1951 and went on to pursue a PhD in Mathematics at Penn State University.  Early in her career, she worked as a Computer Programmer at Dow Chemical, where she met her husband Charles (Charlie) George Warren.   After leaving Dow, she pursued her passion as a teacher and tutor for many years, including teaching at Chagrin Falls High School from 1980 to 1993.

Barbara and Charlie were married in 1958 and they had 2 children, Charles "Chip" George Warren Jr. (Lorrie), and James "Jim" Fraser Warren.  Both attended Chagrin Falls Schools K-12.  Barbara and Charlie were active in the community and could be seen together a Tiger football games throughout the years. They were active members of the Federated Church for over 60 years. 

Barbara is survived by her 2 sons and 4 grandsons, Alexander James Warren, Charles George Warren Jr III , Andrew Fraser Warren, and William Mathew Warren.  Her husband Charles passed away on December 13, 2014.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 5-7pm at the Community Life Collaborative (former Federated Church Family Life Center), 16349 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023.  Arrangements entrusted to Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home.
