Albert Parker II Obituary

“It’s all about the music”

Albert Henry Parker II, known to his loved ones as Al, passed away on January 31, 2024, in Euclid, Ohio. He was born on February 10, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio. Al was a landscape architect and musician who left an indelible mark on those around him.

Al was a proud, artistic, and strong-willed individual. He had a passion for music. For decades he was a bass guitarist for The Disciples and tuba player in The Geauga Country Fair Band. In addition to his musical talents, Al had a long time passion for Chinese culture, Kung Fu martial arts, and was known for performing in Chinese New Year dragon dances throughout the Greater Cleveland area. He also deeply enjoyed when children believed he was Santa during the holidays and also enjoyed vacationing in Cocoa Beach, FL each year.

Al's educational journey began at Orange High School. He later pursued higher education studying architecture at Kent State University and then landscape architecture at Ohio State University. His thirst for knowledge and dedication to his craft were evident in his career as a landscape architect. After retiring from his firm, The Outside In, he continued with community involvement as a member of the Chester Township Park Board, most recently working on the new pickleball courts.

Beyond his professional achievements, Al cherished his personal relationships. He is survived by his brother Richard Llewellyn Parker (Lynn), his daughters Kelly Anne Parker and Katie Christine Rodrick (Michael), and his grandchildren Leah Marie and Matthew Eric Rodrick. Al also leaves behind his long-time partner Delores Long and her son Dylan Long (Abbey). He was also uncle to Steve Parker, Amanda Baggett, Bryn Parker, and Geoffery Parker. Al's life-long best friend, Everett "Chip" Fitzgerald, held a special place in his heart as a beloved brother to him and uncle to his daughters.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lawrence and Mary Ann Parker, his brother Lawrence Anthony Parker(Susan), and his partner's son Dustin James Long.
