Nancy A. (Crowley) Ober (nee Crump)

Nancy A. (Crowley), Ober, nee Crump, age 85, of Solon, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2019. Born September 14, 1934, in Poland, Ohio, to Edna and Owen Crump, Nancy was a resident of the Solon and Chagrin Falls area for 60 years. Dear mother of Bill (Shawn) Crowley, Jeff (Carol) Crowley, Kathy (Ken) Joines, and Don (Carol) Crowley. Dear stepmother of Bonnie (Steve) Sofranko, Sherrie (William Kelley) Ober, Laurie (Al) Lyons, and Tom Ober. Beloved sister of Tom (Louise) Crump and Jim Crump. Preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Edna Crump, husband Nelson Richard Ober, and brothers Richard Crump, Dave Crump, and Harry Crump. Nancy enjoyed a successful career as a award winning school bus driver for the Kenston and Chagrin Falls school districts before finding a second career as an accountant and bookkeeper for businesses in the Solon area. After retirement, she enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband, spending time in nearly every state of the country including Alaska. While at home Nancy was an avid and successful gardener and loved family gatherings.  She was an enthusiastic fan of all the Cleveland sports teams and especially enjoyed watching them with her family. She enjoyed live theater and was a regular patron of community theater in Aurora, Solon, and Chagrin Falls. Nancy was passionate in her faith and was an active member of the congregation of Parkside church in Solon including volunteering at Truth For Life Ministry for many years. Nancy was a loving and devoted, mother, aunt, grandmother, grandaunt, and great-grandmother to the numerous members of her expansive and ever-growing family.  She will be missed dearly. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday October 9, 2019 at Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home 33375 Bainbridge Rd. Solon, OH. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday October 10 at Parkside Church 7100 Pettibone Rd. Bainbridge Twp. OH.
