Merry Lee (Keal) Phillips - 1934-2019
Age 85, of Chagrin Falls, passed on November 12. Beloved wife of the late Jack (John) Phillips; loving mother of Leslie (Dave) Lentsch, Amy (Darrell) Johnson, Michael, Jennifer (Terry) Myerson, Douglas and William (Lindsey). Devoted Grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 3.
Merry Lee was born at home in Euclid in 1934. She lived most of her childhood in Bratenahl with her parents and 3 sisters. She met the love of her life, Jack, at the age of 15 in art class. At age 17 she moved with her family to Chagrin Falls and graduated from CFHS. She attended Kent State University majoring in Elementary Education but left after 2 years to marry Jack. They raised 6 children in Chagrin Falls where she was very involved in volunteering for their school and after school activities, including PTO, room mom and Girl Scout leader.
Merry Lee was known for her kind heart and always putting others first. She was an amazing artist, making Halloween costumes for her family, pinatas for parties as well as beautiful homemade cards and detailed paintings. She loved children, horses and feeding people.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution be made to Alzheimer's Research. A memorial service will be held in the Spring. May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be ever at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rains fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hands.
