Joann W. (Wright) Hoge

JOANN W. HOGE, age 86, passed on Monday, November 18.  Beloved wife of Renon M. Hoge (deceased) for almost 60 years, loving mother of Wendy (John) Naylor, Thomas (Madeline) and Robert Hoge, dear mother-in-law to Cynthia Ames Huffman.  Proud grandmother of Meghan, Ben and Elizabeth Naylor, Tyler, Peyton, Mason, Hunter, Preston and Charlie Hoge.  Dear sister of Gerry Flynn, Marilyn Wright, Carol Andrews, and John (Elise) Wright. 

Jo and her husband Ray were a team.  They met in their early teens at a dog show on the Hunt Club fields.  Jo enrolled at Hollins College in Virginia to be near him at Virginia Tech.  She relayed that Ray asked many times if she planned to marry him so he would be sure to get the right answer when he made the big proposal and presented the ring.  (She always said yes).  They raised their three children in Cleveland becoming MVP parents for their support of high school sporting events.  Winter weekends were spent skiing as a family at HoliMont.  The next project or adventure was always around the corner and they enjoyed traveling around the world.  Along with Ray, she was an instrument-rated pilot.  They retired to South Carolina where they lived for 18 years before returning to Cleveland in 2013.  She will be remembered for her strong faith, her kindness and compassion, her devotion and pride as a mother, grandmother and as a friend to many. 

The family invites friends to a Celebration of Life at Parkside Church at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 30, followed by a Reception at the Country Club, 2825 Lander Road, Pepper Pike.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Parkside Church, 7100 Pettibone Rd., Chagrin Falls Ohio 44023.
