Claire (Emig) Frattare

FRATTARE,

            Claire Frattare of Bainbridge was born in York, Pa. in 1944. Claire died peacefully at home on April 26^th after a courageous battle against cancer. She is survived by her two Oriental cats, Mia and Zak. The daughter of Clair and Wilhelmina Emig. She graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Architecture and Design and for 13 years worked in the Commercial Design Department at The Higbee Company where she designed and oversaw the installation of the carpet for Severance Hall. She later became Director of the S.M. Hexter Design Dept., set up the Design Dept. at Bonnard’s, and then started her own company, CAF Interiors.

            As a member of Executive Women International, Claire was honored as the “Executive Woman of the Year” in 1998.

            After retirement she became active in the Blossom Friends of The Cleveland Orchestra becoming its Board Chair. She gave countless hours and dedication in support of the orchestra and Blossom Music Center where her creativity and attention to details excelled.
