Betty O’Brien Miller passed away peacefully on August 26, 2018. She was born in Cleveland on September 10, 1926. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Donald O’Brien, and her second husband, Pete Miller. She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kathryn O’Brien formerly of Bainbridge. She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Sheri) of Bainbridge, and David of Chesterland, her grandchildren, Thomas II of Cleveland Hts. and Anna of New York City and great grandchildren, William and Natalie O’Brien of Austin, Texas. She was very proud and loving of her O’Brien family and of her extended Miller family.
Betty grew up on the east side of Cleveland but lived most of her adult life in Geauga County in Chesterland, Munson, Chardon, Burton, and Middlefield. She worked as a realtor for many years in northwestern Geauga County. She was an accomplished artist teaching ceramics classes and later spending many years painting in both water colors and oils. Betty played key a role in getting the support from the Bessie Benner Metzenbaum Foundation to provide funds for the Metzenbaum facility in Chesterland where her son, David, resides.
The family will receive friends at the Federated Church Family Life Center at 16349 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023 from 2:00-4:00PM and from 6:00-8:00PM on Thursday, August 30th. Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Geauga County Dog Warden, 12513 Merritt Drive, Chardon, Ohio 44024.
