Anne Marie (Sheridan) Chrow

ANNE MARIE CHROW (nee Sheridan), formerly of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and Amelia Island, Florida, passed away peacefully in the full embrace of her loving family on April 9, 2019 at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Anne and John Sheridan of Willoughby, Ohio, and beloved sister of the late Betty Ann Verdieck, Patricia Cardina, and Jo Ann Barber.  Anne was the loving wife of the late Albert Edward Chrow, and devoted mother to Melinda (James), Laura (Dr. Steven), Jeffrey (Mary), and Mary (D’Arcy).  She cherished and adored her 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren who will miss her great wit, exuberant recitation of dining-room table poems and prayers, entertaining stories of her Irish heritage, literary critique extolling the genius of author Jane Austen, and brilliant history lessons on the British Monarchy.  As a former and proud graduate of St. John’s College of Nursing, Anne will be remembered for her life-long service and leadership in nursing and health care.  During her sixty-year nursing career she was known as a strong patient advocate who was dedicated to supporting the patients and families in her care as well as the nurses under her supervision.  Known for her beautiful voice and passionate love of country, she would often persuade others to sing at least one verse of “God Bless America” at most family gatherings and on many other occasions. An avid lifelong learner, reader, and world traveler, she was much loved and will be deeply missed.

A Mass of the Holy Eucharist will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 496 East Washington Street in Chagrin Falls, Ohio at 9am on Saturday, May 4, 2019 followed by a private burial.  Anne’s grandson, Father Sean Ralph, will preside over the Funeral Mass.
